Miami, FL — Con la fuerza del Rock N’ Roll, R&B y Soul como columna vertebral, Shine funciona como declaración de Fito hacia el mundo que nos rodea.
A través de 13 canciones nuevas, Paez ataca al entumecimiento social actual, construyendo un universo paralelo con identidades que militan abrazos, amistades y relaciones humanas fraternales.
A la vez, este material de algún modo simboliza el renacer de Fito Paez. A comienzos de septiembre del 2025, el músico rosarino sufrió un accidente doméstico por el cual tuvo que atravesar una operación por la fractura de nueve costillas.
Luego de este delicado período de largos meses de reposo absoluto y la cancelación de algunos conciertos y grabaciones, finalmente la música, y este disco en particular, resignificó el poder de estar vivo, lúcido y aportando arte en esta vida.
Es por eso que, en las composiciones de Shine, conviven texturas sociales profundas, con cariños y sensibilidades esperanzadoras, conformando un disco equilibrado que te invita a bailar, ser feliz, y a la vez reflexionar sobre cómo estamos viviendo hoy.
Shine está formado por trece exploraciones con pasiones y conflictos, caos, indicios y redenciones de personas que atravesaron gran parte del tiempo humano y al final encuentran un punto en común: aportar una luz y sentimientos fecundos, ante la insensibilidad del mundo.
Con este lanzamiento, el músico rosarino ratifica su rol como compositor que pone el ojo en el mundo que lo rodea, como acción estimulante, amplificando las raíces musicales y sociales, en un universo de alienación tecnológica.
“Girl T. Rex”, es una canción que, sostenida en un funk que invita a bailar, narra las peripecias de una muchacha en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, hoy. En “Shine”, ya no se cuenta tanto la ciudad, sino el mundo de hoy, con aires al Lennon producido por Phil Spector, trabajada con la crudeza de los años 70’.
“Nuestro templo”, es un reggae auspicioso, donde también se relata el lugar donde vivimos, y cómo lo vivimos. Del mismo modo, es una expresión de deseo sobre cómo querer vivir de acá en adelante. Dice: ‘Mira esos dos pibes que se besan lento entre la arena y la sal, hoy el mundo es una hoguera inmensa de vacío y soledad, estamos olvidándonos de amar’.
Con “Prueba de amor”, se abre un portal cuántico entre los Capuletos y Montescos, en la Verona del 1500 y se traslada a Rosario de hoy. Un registro ambicioso, en términos de tragedia amorosa.
“Río Místico” atraviesa el proceso de una persona que debe tomar decisiones, para no volver atrás y no depender de nadie. De cómo surcar esa fina galería donde si no te ayudas vos mismo, nadie lo va a hacer.
En tanto que “Las fuerzas armadas del amor” es una oda a la amistad, atravesado por el relato en primera persona, del accidente en Madrid que sufrió Fito y del que pudo salir adelante en compañía de sus fuerzas armadas del amor.
En “Planeta azul” se plantea uno de los momentos más climáticos del disco. Esta canción tiene característica de epopeya, la de los ‘bravos amantes, que piensan llegar hasta el fin’. Esa atmósfera de narrativa épica se sostiene tanto en “La esquina del sol”, donde la redención o evaluación del pasado, presente y futuro, se avecina con un deseo esperanzador: cruzarse en la esquina del sol y ser felices; como en “El honor de los lobos”, donde la retrospectiva de vida ordena, pone las cosas en su lugar, le imprime carácter que atravesó muchas experiencias de vida, sin dañar la esencia que se trae desde niños: resistir, pelear por vivir, como el honor de los lobos.
“Universo”, es una canción dedicada a Pablo Milanés. La melodía está inspirada en su obra y pensada su figura en la cosmogonía universal y dentro del caos, contribuyendo con su grano de arena.
Como apertura y cierre del lado A del vinilo, y un cierre total en el final del lado B, se encuentran tres piezas instrumentales con Fito solo al piano. Cada una termina con la palabra Hablame. En algún punto, estos Hablame, y esa maravillosa música que paradójicamente se siente en silencio, reflejan ese período de recuperación física y espiritual que tuvo que atravesar Fito, y que concluyó en Shine.

Across 13 new songs, Paez confronts today’s social numbness, constructing a parallel universe populated by identities that champion embraces, friendship, and fraternal human connection.
At the same time, this album symbolizes, in many ways, the rebirth of Fito Paez. In early September 2025, the Rosario-born musician suffered a domestic accident that required surgery after fracturing nine ribs.
Following this delicate period, marked by months of absolute rest and the cancellation of several concerts and recording sessions, music, and this album in particular, ultimately redefined the power of being alive, lucid, and continuing to contribute art to life.
That is why the compositions on Shine blend profound social textures with affection and hopeful sensitivity, creating a balanced album that invites listeners to dance, be happy, and at the same time reflect on how we are living today.
Shine is made up of thirteen explorations filled with passions and conflicts, chaos, signs, and redemption, portraying people who have journeyed through much of human experience and ultimately arrive at a common point: to bring light and meaningful emotion in the face of the world’s growing insensitivity.
With this release, the Rosario-born artist reaffirms his role as a songwriter who keeps a close eye on the world around him, using that perspective as a creative force while amplifying musical and social roots in a universe marked by technological alienation.

“Girl T. Rex” is a funk-driven song that invites listeners to dance while telling the adventures of a young woman navigating present-day Buenos Aires. In “Shine,” the focus shifts from the city to today’s world, evoking Lennon produced by Phil Spector, with the raw edge of the 1970s.
“Nuestro templo” (Our Temple) is an uplifting reggae track that reflects on where we live and how we experience it. At the same time, it expresses a desire for how we wish to live moving forward. It says: “Look at those two boys kissing slowly between the sand and the salt, today the world is a massive bonfire of emptiness and loneliness, we are forgetting how to love.”
With “Prueba de amor” (Proof of Love), a quantum portal opens between the Capulets and Montagues in 16th-century Verona and transports them to present-day Rosario. It is an ambitious take on romantic tragedy.
“Río Místico” (Mystic River) explores the journey of a person who must make decisions in order not to go backward and not depend on anyone else, navigating that fine line where, if you do not help yourself, no one else will.
Meanwhile, “Las fuerzas armadas del amor” (The Armed Forces of Love) is an ode to friendship, told in the first person and inspired by the accident Fito suffered in Madrid, from which he was able to recover thanks to his own “armed forces of love.”
“Planeta azul” (Blue Planet) presents one of the album’s most climactic moments. The song carries an epic quality, telling the story of “brave lovers who believe they will make it to the very end.”
That same epic narrative atmosphere continues in “La esquina del sol” (The Corner of the Sun), where redemption and the assessment of past, present, and future approach with a hopeful wish: to meet at the corner of the sun and be happy.
It also resonates in “El honor de los lobos” (The Honor of Wolves), where a life retrospective brings order, puts things in perspective, and gives character to someone who has endured countless experiences without losing the essence carried since childhood: to resist, to fight for life, like the honor of wolves.
“Universo” (Universe) is a song dedicated to Pablo Milanés. Its melody is inspired by his work and envisions his figure within universal cosmogony, contributing his grain of sand amid the chaos.
Opening and closing Side A of the vinyl, and serving as the final closing piece of Side B, are three instrumental compositions featuring Fito alone at the piano. Each one ends with the word Hablame (“Speak to Me”).
In some way, these Hablame pieces, and that beautiful music that paradoxically feels like silence, reflect the period of physical and spiritual recovery Fito had to go through, a journey that ultimately culminated in Shine.
