Eddy Herrera recibe nominación al Latin GRAMMY® por su álbum “Novato Apostador”
El ícono del merengue celebra su nominación a Mejor Álbum de Merengue y/o Bachata en la 26.ª Entrega Anual del Latin GRAMMY® con una obra que apuesta por la reinvención artística
Miami, FL, 19 de septiembre de 2025 – Hay artistas que se repiten, y otros que se reinventan. Eddy Herrera eligió lo segundo. Hoy, su nombre vuelve a estar en el radar de la música latina con una nueva nominación al Latin GRAMMY®, esta vez en la categoría Mejor Álbum de Merengue y/o Bachata por Novato Apostador (Intermusic, S.R.L.), una producción que desafía las fórmulas y confirma que el riesgo también se premia.
Novato Apostador es el álbum número 18 de su carrera, y quizá el más osado. No solo por su concepto, sino por su ejecución. Fue grabado en parte junto a la Orquesta Filarmónica de Asunción, Paraguay, con arreglos sinfónicos que envuelven sus temas de merengue en un sonido renovado, elegante y profundo. Herrera no juega a lo seguro. Apuesta como un novato. Arriesga como quien tiene todo por ganar, no por probarse, sino por el puro deseo de evolucionar.
La producción incluye 13 temas que se alejan de lo predecible y transitan nuevas texturas melódicas. Entre ellos, “Y Cómo Te Olvido” —primer sencillo que superó los tres millones de vistas en YouTube—, “Te vas de mí”, “La adicta”, “Interesada” y la canción que da nombre al disco, “Novato Apostador”. La dirección musical estuvo a cargo de un equipo de élite que incluye a Manuel Tejada, Junior Cabrera, Edwin García, Moisés Sánchez, Antonio González y Juan Daniel Montero.
Este nuevo reconocimiento llega en un momento de madurez creativa para Herrera, quien ha sabido sostener una carrera de más de tres décadas con coherencia, prestigio y autenticidad. Su nominación es también una celebración del merengue como género vivo, en constante diálogo con el presente.
La Academia Latina de la Grabación anunció hoy las nominaciones para la 26.ª Entrega Anual del Latin GRAMMY®, que se transmitirá en vivo desde el MGM Grand Garden Arena en Las Vegas el 13 de noviembre. Entre los postulados, Novato Apostador brilla como un testimonio de que la excelencia artística no tiene fecha de caducidad.

Miami, FL, September 19, 2025 – Some artists repeat themselves, others reinvent. Eddy Herrera chose the latter. Today, his name returns to the spotlight in Latin music with a new Latin GRAMMY® nomination, this time in the Best Merengue/Bachata Album category for Novato Apostador (Intermusic, S.R.L.), a production that challenges formulas and proves that risk is also rewarded.
Novato Apostador is the 18th album of his career and arguably his boldest. Not only because of its concept but also its execution. It was partially recorded with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Asunción, Paraguay, featuring symphonic arrangements that wrap his merengue tracks in a renewed, elegant and profound sound. Herrera doesn’t play it safe. He bets like a rookie. He takes risks not to prove himself but out of a genuine desire to evolve.
The album includes 13 songs that move away from the predictable and explore new melodic textures. Among them are “Y Cómo Te Olvido,” the first single which surpassed three million views on YouTube, along with “Te vas de mí,” “La adicta,” “Interesada” and the title song, “Novato Apostador.” The musical direction was led by a powerhouse team including Manuel Tejada, Junior Cabrera, Edwin García, Moisés Sánchez, Antonio González and Juan Daniel Montero.
This new recognition comes at a moment of creative maturity for Herrera, who has sustained a career of over three decades with consistency, prestige and authenticity. His nomination is also a celebration of merengue as a living genre, constantly engaging with the present.
The Latin Recording Academy announced today the nominations for the 26th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards, which will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on November 13. Among the nominees, Novato Apostador stands out as proof that artistic excellence has no expiration date.
