Camila Arteche gana el premio a “Mejor Actriz” @ Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Madrid por su interpretación en el filme BOXEADORA
Camila Arteche acaba de ganar el premio a “Mejor Actriz” en el Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Madrid (FICIMAD) por su interpretación en el filme Boxeadora, del director Oldren Romero.
La actriz cubana destacó que este reconocimiento ha sido una sorpresa porque Boxeadora es un proyecto que hizo hace años y que todavía le está dando alegrías. Arteche ha recibido varios galardones por esta cinta que protagonizó en La Habana y que fue uno de sus últimos proyectos antes de emigrar de la Isla.
El filme habla de resiliencia, de familia, y de la importancia de sanar el sistema familiar para no repetir patrones. La película reflexiona además sobre la libertad que merecen las mujeres para decidir sobre su cuerpo y cumplir sus sueños, sobre todo en deportes y actividades sobre los que aún existen muchos prejuicios.
Arteche resaltó que Boxeadora rompe con todo eso al apostar por el talento femenino en estas áreas, y además convertir una situación dolorosa de tu pasado en un sueño hecho realidad.
“Para la preparación de este personaje, estuve tres meses entrenando boxeo con Yunior Rojas, que fue un entrenador maravilloso. Además, era la segunda vez que trabajaba con el director Oldren Romero y le agradezco muchísimo que siempre me ha permitido interpretar roles que demandan mucho de mí en el sentido emocional y profesional. Oldren es un director muy profundo que toca temas muy desgarradores. Para mí ha sido una bendición encontrarme con él y que me dé la oportunidad de trabajar de esta manera”, puntualizó.
La actriz cubana, que acaba de estrenar la serie Coolie y se prepara para empezar la filmación de otros proyectos cinematográficos, contó que el equipo de Boxeadora fue invitado al FICIMAD el próximo año para recibir el galardón y que allá estarán. Además, resaltó que está muy agradecida con esta noticia inesperada.
El Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Madrid es un evento cinematográfico que se celebra anualmente en la capital española y está enfocado en impulsar y difundir el cine independiente mundial fuera de los circuitos comerciales tradicionales.

Camila Arteche has just won the Best Actress award at the Madrid International Independent Film Festival (FICIMAD) for her performance in the film Boxeadora, directed by Oldren Romero.
The Cuban actress noted that this recognition came as a surprise because *Boxeadora* is a project she worked on years ago that continues to bring her joy. Arteche has received several awards for this film, which she starred in in Havana and which was one of her last projects before emigrating from the island.
The film explores resilience, family, and the importance of healing family dynamics to avoid repeating patterns. The film also reflects on the freedom women deserve to make decisions about their own bodies and pursue their dreams, especially in sports and activities where many prejudices still exist.

“To prepare for this role, I spent three months training in boxing with Yunior Rojas, who was a wonderful coach. It was also the second time I’d worked with director Oldren Romero, and I’m so grateful to him for always allowing me to play roles that demand so much from me, both emotionally and professionally. Oldren is a very profound director who tackles deeply moving themes. For me, it has been a blessing to meet him and for him to give me the opportunity to work in this way,” she noted.
The Cuban actress, who has just premiered the series Coolie and is preparing to begin filming other cinematic projects, said that the Boxeadora team was invited to FICIMADnext year to receive the award and that they will be there. She also emphasized that she is very grateful for this unexpected news.
The Madrid International Independent Film Festival is an annual film event held in the Spanish capital that focuses on promoting and disseminating independent cinema from around the world outside of traditional commercial circuits.
