MLB Players’ Weekend Is Back Aug 15-17 + Sneak Peak of Custom Gear and Player Initiatives
MLB Players’ Weekend is being celebrated all weekend long, bringing fans closer to the game with personalized touches from their favorite athletes. Players will take the field wearing custom-designed jerseys, cleats, bats, and gloves that showcase their personalities, passions, and creativity.
Kicking off today, fans can enjoy exciting matchups, one-of-a-kind equipment, and memorable moments both on and off the field.
Highlights include :
- Most Creative Bats – Players are showcasing their personalities and passions with one-of-a-kind bats, such as:
- Juan Soro’s shuffle bat
- Lourdes Gurriel Jr.’s Piña Power bat, a nod to his pineapple-like hairstyle
- Bobby Witt Jr.’s cheeseburger bat
- Harrison Bader’s blue “water” bat
- CJ “The Alien” Abrams’ alien-themed bat
- Fernando Tatis Jr.’s tribute to his farm in the Dominican Republic
- Ketel Marte honoring his late mother
- Freddie Freeman featuring his kids’ names
- Trea Turner’s Marvel-inspired bat featuring his son’s favorite superheroes Spiderman and The Hulk
- Vinnie Pasquantino‘s bat is emblazoned with his signature “Pasquatch” nickname
- Jarren Duran’s featuring the fan-favorite character Stitch
- Charity & Causes:

- The San Francisco Giants are visiting Family House San Francisco to spend time with children and families receiving treatment at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital
- Jake Irvin and Jacob Young, the Washington National’s Heart and Hustle Award winner, have to meet with children battling illnesses at local hospitals. During a recent visit with patients from The Children’s Inn at NIH, Irvin and Young asked a couple young patients to design their Players’ Weekend cleats.
- Yohel Pozo is using his first Players Weekend in the big leagues to pay tribute to his son Paul, who suffered a stroke shortly after being born. Recently, Yohel and Paul visited with children who are battling similar health problems at Mercy Hospital so that they could put their power and strength on his bat!
- Cincinnati Children’s Hospital painted cleats for the Cincinnati Reds team again this year in honor of Player’s Weekend
