Juan Fernando Velasco anuncia su esperada gira “Julio Eterno Tour” por Estados Unidos
El cantautor ecuatoriano llevará por 20 ciudades su nuevo proyecto discográfico Julio Eterno, una obra que revive la voz de Julio Jaramillo y conecta generaciones a través de la música, la memoria y la tecnología
Miami, FL (28 de julio de 2025) — Luego de presentar uno de los proyectos musicales más conmovedores de su carrera, Juan Fernando Velasco anuncia oficialmente el Julio Eterno Tour, una gira por Estados Unidos que visitará 20 ciudades este octubre. Inspirado en su más reciente EP Julio Eterno, el cantautor ecuatoriano rinde tributo al legendario Julio Jaramillo a través de duetos en los que la voz original del “Ruiseñor de América” cobra nueva vida gracias a la tecnología.
La gira comienza el 5 de octubre en Miami y recorrerá ciudades clave como Atlanta, Nashville, Washington DC, Chicago, Houston, Nueva York y Los Ángeles, entre otras. Las entradas ya están disponibles en www.juanfernandovelasco.com.
Julio Eterno, producido por Andrés Castro y mezclado por Curt Schneider, es un EP que desafía las barreras del tiempo con nuevas versiones de clásicos del repertorio latinoamericano. El foco del proyecto es el bolero “Cinco Centavitos”, una pieza escrita por Héctor Ulloa que explora el precio emocional de la felicidad y el amor. A través de arreglos cuidadosamente construidos y colaboraciones con músicos de talla mundial como Aaron Sterling, Velasco logra un equilibrio íntimo entre lo acústico y lo contemporáneo.
El EP incluye cinco temas: “Cinco Centavitos”, “Ódiame”, “Rondando tu Esquina”, “Nuestro Juramento” y “No me Toquen ese Vals”. Cada canción fue reinterpretada desde una visión moderna pero respetuosa del legado original, anclada en el sonido ecuatoriano por artistas locales como Navijio Cevallos.
El Julio Eterno Tour no solo celebra el repertorio de una leyenda, sino que también invita al público a reflexionar sobre lo que significa pertenecer, honrar y avanzar. Sobre Juan Fernando Velasco
Juan Fernando Velasco es un músico, compositor, cantante y productor nominado a múltiples premios Grammy. El gusto, la vocación y el descubrimiento de su aptitud para la música llegaron más tarde en su vida. No fue hasta los 16 años que comenzó a tocar la guitarra y a componer, y poco después, sus ganas de cantar fueron provocadas por la necesidad de mostrar lo que había escrito. De repente, hacer música era lo que más le gustaba hacer y decidió dejar sus estudios en otros campos para dedicarse de lleno a lo que finalmente acabaría siendo su profesión.
Su carrera artística comenzó en 1988 cuando subió al escenario por primera vez con la banda de su escuela para interpretar canciones de The Beatles, Pink Floyd y algunas composiciones originales. En 1999 debutó como solista con el disco “Para que no me olvides”.
Con sus otros 6 discos: “Tanto amor” (2002), “Juan Fernando Velasco En Vivo” (2005), “A tu lado” (2007), “Con toda el alma” (2010), “A contratiempo” (2011 ), y “Misquilla” (2015), terminó consolidándose como uno de los cantautores más queridos y respetados de la música latinoamericana.
Durante su carrera ha recibido la Orden Vicente Rocafuerte en dos ocasiones, el más alto reconocimiento que otorga el Congreso y la Asamblea del Ecuador por sus logros en las artes y la cultura. Ganó un premio EMMY® a la Mejor Canción con “Yo nací aquí” y ha sido nominado dos veces a los Latin GRAMMY®s y una vez a los VMAs®. Su mayor logro profesional ha sido acercar la tradición musical ecuatoriana a los más jóvenes con su disco “Con toda el alma”, y tener el récord de 28 Discos de Oro por las ventas del mismo álbum.

About Juan Fernando Velasco
Juan Fernando Velasco is a multi-Grammy nominated musician, songwriter, singer and producer. The taste, calling, and the discovery of his aptitude for music arrived later in his life. It wasn’t until he turned 16 that he began to play guitar and compose, and soon after, his desire to sing was provoked by the need to showcase what he had written. Suddenly, making music was what he most liked to do and he decided to leave his studies in other fields in order to fully dedicate himself to what would ultimately end up being his profession.
His artistic career began in 1988 when he took the stage for the first time with his school band to play songs by The Beatles, Pink Floyd and some original compositions. In 1999 he made his solo debut with the album “Para que no me olvides.”
With his other 6 albums: “Tanto amor” (2002), “Juan Fernando Velasco En Vivo” (2005), “A tu lado” (2007), “Con toda el alma” (2010), “A contratiempo” (2011), and “Misquilla” (2015), he ended up establishing himself as one of the most beloved and respected singer-songwriters in the Latin American music industry.
During his career he’s received la Orden Vicente Rocafuerte twice, the highest recognition given by Congress and the Assembly of Ecuador for achievements in arts and culture. He won an EMMY® award for Best Song with “Yo nací aquí” and he’s been nominated twice to the Latin GRAMMY®s and once to the VMAs®. His biggest professional achievement has been bringing the Ecuadorian musical tradition to younger people with his album “Con toda el alma,” and having the record for 28 Gold Records for the sales of the same album.
