Carín León escribe la historia en Japón: será el primer artista mexicano en encabezar un Festival Musical en Tokio

Miami, FL— El 2026 será un año para los anales de la historia de Carín León. El rugido del embajador global de la Música Mexicana resuena hasta el continente asiático y, en agosto, hará historia en Japón al convertirse en el primer artista mexicano en ser cabeza de cartel de un festival musical en Tokio.

Se trata del Summer Sonic Festival 2026, que anualmente toma por asalto Tokio y Osaka con más de 100 actos nacionales e internacionales, representando una poderosa variedad de géneros, desde el rock, funk, hip-hop hasta el pop y ahora, la Música Mexicana.

Celebrando el 25 aniversario, Carín León llevará al festival su repertorio multipremiado, que lo ha convertido en una de las voces más influyentes e innovadoras de la música latina a nivel mundial.   

Carín iniciará su periplo nipón en Osaka el viernes 14 de agosto y un día después, el sábado 15 de agosto, se dirigirá a Tokio para hacer historia. Allí, en la capital, Carín será el curador oficial del Beach Stage, eligiendo personalmente a los artistas que subirán al escenario a lo largo de la jornada, incluidos los actos mexicanos LATIN MAFIA y Paloma Morphy. 

Carín se une a un lineup estelar de artistas de la talla de Jamiroquai, Alex Warren, David Byrne, The Strokes, mgk (Machine Gun Kelly), Pentatonix, Ado, entre otros. Las entradas para el Summer Sonic Festival 2026 están a la venta en la página web del evento.

La confirmación de Carín León en el Summer Sonic Festival 2026 es tan solo un anticipo de un año que ya es uno de los más extraordinarios de la carrera del cuatro veces ganador del Latin GRAMMY^®.

En febrero, Carín conquistó su segundo GRAMMY^® consecutivo; en marzo, alcanzó el #1 simultáneo en los charts de Regional Mexican Airplay y de Latin Airplay de Billboard con el éxito “La Morrita” junto a Xavi.

También en marzo, Carín fue profeta en su tierra al realizar la primera edición de La Cura Fest, el primer festival internacional de música que él mismo creó y curó y que posiciona a su ciudad natal, Hermosillo, Sonora, como el referente cultural más importante del noroeste de México.
Además, en septiembre Carín llegará al Sphere de Las Vegas como el primer artista latino en presentarse en el recinto vanguardista y, en 2027, continuará su racha histórica al llevar La Cura Fest a Madrid, España.

Miami, FL — 2026 is shaping up to be a year for the books for Carín León. The global ambassador of Música Mexicana is making his presence felt across Asia, and this August, he will make history in Japan as the first Mexican artist ever to headline a major music festival in Tokyo.

That festival is Summer Sonic 2026, which every year takes Tokyo and Osaka by storm with more than 100 domestic and international acts spanning a powerful range of genres — from rock, funk, and hip-hop to pop and now, Música Mexicana.

Marking its 25th anniversary, Summer Sonic 2026 will welcome Carín León and his award-winning catalog, which has established him as one of the most influential and innovative voices in Latin music worldwide.

Carín will kick off his Japanese run in Osaka on Friday, August 14, before heading to Tokyo the following day, Saturday, August 15, where history awaits. In the capital, Carín will serve as the official curator of the Beach Stage, personally selecting every artist who performs throughout the day, including the Mexican acts LATIN MAFIA and Paloma Morphy.

Carín León’s confirmation at Summer Sonic Festival 2026 is just a glimpse of what a year that has already become one of the most extraordinary in the four-time Latin GRAMMY^® winner’s career still has in store.

In February, Carín took home his back-to-back GRAMMY^®; in March, he simultaneously hit #1 on both Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay and Latin Airplay charts with the hit “La Morrita” featuring Xavi.Also in March, Carín proved a prophet in his own land by launching the first edition of La Cura Fest — the international music festival he himself created and curated — cementing his hometown, Hermosillo, Sonora, as the most important cultural landmark in northwestern Mexico.

This September, he will also make history at the Las Vegas Sphere as the first Latino artist to perform at the groundbreaking venue. In 2027, he will continue his historic run by taking La Cura Fest to Madrid, Spain.
