Andrés Cepeda y Duplat presentan “Dulce y Amarga” una colaboración honesta que abraza los contrastes de la vida
Miami, Fl. Septiembre 10 2025. La vida siempre se mueve entre contrastes: la alegría y la melancolía, lo bueno y lo no tan bueno. Justo en ese vaivén nace “Dulce y Amarga”, el nuevo sencillo de Duplat junto al maestro Andrés Cepeda. Una canción honesta, que no busca adornos ni superficialidades, sino hablar de lo que realmente significa vivir: aceptar que nada es perfecto y que las grandes alegrías muchas veces vienen acompañadas de momentos difíciles.
La inspiración llegó después de una noche de la velada de unos premios musicales en donde Duplat sintió una mezcla de tristeza y felicidad que después fue inspiración para transformarse en música. En una sesión de escritura planeada con Andrés Cepeda, en apenas 25 minutos, letra y melodía encontraron su forma con una química inmediata entre los dos artistas.
“Creo que esta canción va a ser un antes y un después en mi carrera musical”, confiesa Duplat. “Es una canción donde coincidí con un artista en un momento preciso de mi vida, con la necesidad urgente de decir algo en mis canciones; de tener un mensaje, una tesis y una visión sobre el mundo. Nos encontramos con Andrés en esa misma búsqueda: hablar de la vida, no de cosas efímeras. Para mí, Dulce y Amarga resume no solo mi manera de ver la música, sino la vida misma. Es mi canción favorita hasta la fecha”.
Por su parte, Andrés Cepeda afirma que “Conocí a Duplat en el backstage de un concierto en la ciudad de Bogotá y tras conversar un rato, nos dimos cuenta de que íbamos a ser fácilmente amigos. Un par de semanas después, llegó a mi casa, se sentó al piano y en 45 minutos teníamos en nuestras manos la primera canción: “Dulce y Amarga”. Esa misma tarde terminamos de grabar el demo y salimos muy contentos con el resultado. Creo que es una muy buena colaboración, en la que nuestros estilos musicales se entienden a la perfección y combinan muy bien. Seguramente estaremos colaborando mucho más a menudo.”
Con el piano como eje central y la complicidad entre dos voces que se encuentran en momentos distintos de la vida y de su carrera musical pero con la misma necesidad de comunicar, “Dulce y Amarga” se convierte en un manifiesto musical: un recordatorio de que vivir es aprender a abrazar lo bello y lo doloroso, porque ambos son esenciales.
La producción de “Dulce y Amarga” refuerza la esencia pop/rock de la canción con un sonido profundamente emocional El tema fue compuesto por Duplat y Andrés Cepeda, y contó con la producción del mismo Duplat, quien le imprimió su sello tan característico como el talentoso artista que es.
En los instrumentos, Duplat estuvo a cargo del piano y voz, y Cepeda en la guitarra y la voz, logrando un diálogo sonoro cargado de sensibilidad. El ensamble se complementa con la batería de Jacobo Álvarez, el bajo de Guillermo Vadalá y la guitarra de Andrés Cruz, músicos que aportan solidez y matices a la atmósfera de la canción.
La grabación se realizó en los estudios Audiovisión de Bogotá , bajo la dirección del ingeniero de grabación David Dueñas, mezcla a cargo de Uriel Dorfman, mientras que el mastering fue realizado por Lewis Pickett, asegurando un maravilloso acabado sonoro.
“Dulce y Amarga” lleva a entender que “nada es perfecto en la vida, que las tristezas son inevitables y es normal y la vida consiste en sufrir y disfrutar. Ambas cosas son igual de importantes y esenciales en la vida” Inevitablemente, la voz de Andrés Cepeda y la de Duplat, tanto literalmente como poéticamente, conectaron muy bien, y lograron traducir en música, algo en donde ambos coincidieron como una breve lectura de la vida.
Luego de su anterior lanzamiento musical “Déjame Ser” y la condecoración recibida por parte del Concejo de Bogotá por su trabajo comprobado en la ciudad, sus logros como artista y la gran contribución que ha hecho con su música a la capital del país, Duplat realizó dos recitales de piano clásico en las ciudades de Cali y Leticia y acompañará a su amigo y también artista colombiano, Manuel Medrano en su gira por América Latina y España.
Por su parte, Andrés Cepeda se prepara para iniciar su gira por los principales escenarios de Colombia, presentando su más reciente álbum de estudio “Bogotá Deluxe”, esta gira se extenderá a 19 ciudades en Colombia.

The inspiration came after a night at a music awards ceremony, where Duplat felt a mix of sadness and happiness that later transformed into music. In a writing session with Andrés Cepeda, in just 25 minutes, lyrics and melody came together with an immediate chemistry between the two artists.
“I believe this song will mark a before and after in my musical career,” confesses Duplat. “It’s a song where I connected with an artist at a very precise moment in my life, with the urgent need to say something in my songs—to have a message, a thesis, and a vision about the world. Andrés and I met in that same search: to talk about life, not fleeting things. For me, Dulce y Amarga summarizes not only my way of seeing music, but life itself. It’s my favorite song to date.”
For his part, Andrés Cepeda states: “I met Duplat backstage at a concert in Bogotá, and after talking for a while, we realized we would easily become friends. A couple of weeks later, he came to my house, sat at the piano, and in 45 minutes we had our first song in our hands: Dulce y Amarga. That same afternoon we finished recording the demo and were very happy with the result. I think it’s a very good collaboration, where our musical styles understand each other perfectly and blend beautifully. Surely, we’ll be working together much more often.”
With the piano as its central element and the complicity of two voices at different stages in life and career but with the same need to communicate, “Dulce y Amarga” becomes a musical manifesto: a reminder that living means learning to embrace both the beautiful and the painful, as both are essential.
The production of “Dulce y Amarga” reinforces the song’s pop/rock essence with a deeply emotional sound. The track was written by Duplat and Andrés Cepeda and produced by Duplat himself, who imprinted his signature style as the talented artist he is.

“Dulce y Amarga” conveys the idea that “nothing in life is perfect, sadness is inevitable and normal, and life consists of both suffering and enjoyment. Both are equally important and essential.” Inevitably, the voices of Andrés Cepeda and Duplat—both literally and poetically—connected beautifully, managing to translate into music something they both agreed upon: a brief reflection on life.
Following his previous musical release “Déjame Ser” and the honor awarded by the Bogotá Council for his proven work in the city, his achievements as an artist, and the great contribution he has made to the capital through his music, Duplat performed two classical piano recitals in the cities of Cali and Leticia, and will join his friend and fellow Colombian artist Manuel Medrano on his tour through Latin America and Spain.
For his part, Andrés Cepeda is preparing to kick off his tour across Colombia’s main stages, presenting his most recent studio album “Bogotá Deluxe.” This tour will cover 19 cities throughout the country.
